Where beauty resides.

Where beauty resides.

hidden from the naked eye
beauty lies deep inside
pay attention

Okay, so it's not a 'traditional' haiku,
but I didn't want to try and conform it into something it wasn't.
Those were my initial thoughts, and I like it just the way it is!!
I'm not very agreeable right now, am I? haha.
Good thing tomorrow is F-R-I-D-A-Y!
It's been a rough week.....

I didn't get to the BalloonFest photos this week,
hopefully, I will get the opportunity to go through them this weekend.
I have, however, made many updates over at the {366} Photographic Journal blog -
and even though I am still far behind.....I'm not stressing it.

Wanna see more black & white photos?
Read about "November in b&w" hosted by Springtree Road.
It's a fun theme, and although I can't go an entire month without color,
I have been inspired to participate when I get the urge.
If you want to participate, too, visit the above links.

  4. An amazing shot that I can't imagine in anything but B&W. I just looked through 366 Photographic Journal and am trying to remember my favorites there:
Both shots of Moses, especially the one with his little tongue showing and those whiskers shining; the three daisies; the creature of the night; your neighbor the barn; the falls shot; and the one with all the brilliant yellow leaves. What a treat to look at them all.

  5. Very beautiful! Yeah, I've just notice the detail after you make it b/w.
but I still prefer the one with colour :-)

  17. i have a vague memory of someone telling me, as a young child, that queen anne's lace could cause an itchy rash. years later, i still think that and i wonder if it was just something my mother told me so that i would stop picking it. pretty photo.

  18. That's why I call mine "odes". Odes have no pattern. lol

  20. Beautiful. Thank you for your comment yesterday. I needed to know I wasn't alone! I just laughed when I read Margie's comment, no one ever told me that it caused an itchy rash. Funny how our childhood memories differ.

Have a nice weekend with an old song from Demi Roussos

    It's five o'clock
and I walk through the empty streets
    thoughts fill my head
    but then still
    No one speaks to me
    My mind takes me back
to the years that have passed me by
    (interlude)
It is so hard to believe
    That it's me
    that I see
    in the window pane
it is so hard to believe
that all this is the way
    that is has to be
    It's five o'click
and I walk through the empty streets
    The night is my friend
    And in him
    I find sympathy
And so I go back to the years that have to past me by
    (interlude)
It is so hard to believe
    That it's me
    that I see
    in the window pane
it is so hard to believe
that all this is the way
    that is has to be

    It's five o'click
and I walk through the empty streets
    The night is my friend
And in him I find sympathy
    He gives, gives me day
    gives me hope
    and a little dream too

    Forest Gump and St. Peter
When Forest Gump died, he stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates. St. Peter said, "Welcome, Forest. We've heard a lot about you." He continued, "Unfortunately, it's getting pretty crowded up here and we find that we now have to give people an entrance examination before we let them in."

"Okay," said Forest. "I hope it's not too hard. I've already been through a test. My momma used to say, 'Life is like a final exam. It's hard.' "

"Yes, Forest, I know. But this test is only three questions. Here they are."

    1) Which two days of the week begin with the letter 'T'?"

    2) How many seconds are in a year?

    3) What is God's first name?

"Well, sir," said Forest, "The first one is easy. Which two days of the week begin with the letter 'T'? Today and Tomorrow."

St. Peter looked surprised and said, "Well, that wasn't the answer I was looking for, but you have a point. I give you credit for that answer."

"The next question," said Forest, "How many seconds are in a year? Twelve."

"Twelve?" said St. Peter, surprised and confused.

    "Yes, sir. January 2nd, February 2nd, March 2nd …"

St. Peter interrupted him. "I see what you mean. I'll have to give you credit for that one, too."

"And the last question," said Forest, "What is God's first name? It's Andy."

"Andy?" said St. Peter, in shock. "How did you come up with 'Andy'?"

"I learned it in church. We used to sing about it." Forest broke into song, "Andy walks with me, Andy talks with me, Andy tells me I am His own."

St. Peter opened the gate to heaven and said, "Run, Forest, Run!"
