I bought cherries a week or so ago for the sole purpose of photographing them.
I have what you would call a 'thing' for cherries, particularly cherry related kitchen items.
For some time, I have said to myself that I needed to take some photos of the fruit to hang in my kitchen.
I finally did, and this one, in its TtV fashion happened to be my favorite.
Of course I put my newfound photoshop spin on it.
The name "Sour Cherries" comes from a song by one of my most favorite bands, The Kills.
How about I dedicate this photo to my most favorite girl, B. I can't wait for October!
Here is a very different cherry shot I posted over at the {366} blog.
Now, about the upcoming festivities......
I'm a little disappointed that I didn't get more of a fuss when mentioning a GIVE-A-WAY!
I mean, show a little excitement people?!?! haha
I suppose that I'm a little more excitable since I know what's in store.
I am feeling pretty darn generous too - just so you know!
Let's create some pandemonium here,
especially since the word FREEBIE is involved.
That is, unless you're not at all interested?!
And if that's the case......
that just means there is more for everyone else!!!
(insert evil laugh from The Count here)
mmmm, i ran out (again) yesterday. back to the store, wit a brief stop at my financial planner's office to see just how many i can afford...
ReplyDeleteUMMM how did I miss this freebie? What do I have to do? I love it!
ReplyDeleteI read about the freebie and thought about leaving a comment but I didn't want to sound like I was begging! Whatever it is you have up your sleeve is bound to brighten someone's day. I looked at the other cherries photo and for some reason it reminds me of the movie "The Girl with the Pearl Earring" -- it looks like it's in a kitchen some centuries ago. That movie, btw, is a visual feast...like your photography!
ReplyDeletenothing sour about this photo. love this work.Lydia got it right the pic would fit into that film.another one up there with your best.
ReplyDeletefreebie tell me tell me more?????????????????????????????
ReplyDeleteVery impressive. And I love cherries too.

ReplyDeleteI am thinking of having a give away on my blog next month involving my photos. I have it all planed but you will just have to wait and see.
This is just a divine photo. Defiantly a piece of art. I am going to have to start quizzing you on how to use photo shop!!

ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteMy first visit to your blog, I really like both your cherry shots, with a preference for the spilt cherries where the work on light and composition is remarkable.
I took a while to visit both your blogs, the WW and 366, finding it a bit frustrating to have to navigate between the two, but the photos are worth it.
Congratulations on selling your first print. Isn't that an exciting moment ?
I really enjoyed reading your Experimentation post and the result is SUPERB. I'm jealous. Would you mind telling me which tutorial you used ?
We're here.... we're excited and about to create the pandemonium you require.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to win a piece of your wonderful art!
jackal: Thank you!!
ReplyDeletePod: :(
getty: The effect was created with a texture that had scratches and dark spots, I played with the opacity around the fruit so they would stand out a bit more.
chelsea: Now that's the excitement I'm looking for!!!!!!!! Woo-Hoo!
nathalie: I'm so glad you're here, thank you so much for the very kind comments!
The WW and {366} are meant to be separate entities, from time to time I may link back and forth, but the 366 project just gives insight into my daily life, where as my WW blog is more about my growth process and the fun things I see and do on occasion.
I may be able to pinpoint the tutorial I watched, although I would have to do some searching and get back to you on that. I do know that I found it on youtube.....Which photoshop do you use? You can send me an email instead of leaving a comment if you like.
Thanks again for the visit, and kind words :o)
Jacky: Yay, glad you're on board!
so pretty. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm late to comment because things have been crazy at work since I've returned from vacation, but I love freebies!
ReplyDeleteI turn my back and you do a giveaway! I'm in! What do we have to do?
ReplyDeleteGreat cherry pics. :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't want to seem too excited about the freebie so you wouldn't think that's all I come here for... I come here for the awesomeness. :)
jessie: Thank you :) and thanks for stopping by too!
ReplyDeletemeridith: Seems like you turned up just in time :o)
Sian: Details coming soon! I was wondering where you were ;)
prin: After reading your post, i thought you needed some awesomeness! haha
