Vacation Contrast : Florida vs. North Carolina

From this......
St. Augustine Oceanview

to this......
Snowy Return

Excuse me while I get back into the swing of things!
I'm happy to report that we both went to the doctor late this afternoon.
We are now armed with meds and ready to nip this crud in the bud - bye, bye dry cough!
I also did a little more unpacking and account balancing, I know, I'm having too much fun eh?!
Enough of the boring everyday life stuff......on to the good stuff!!
Here's a summary of what I hope to share with you this week.
  • Our trip to Saint Augustine's historic Lighthouse
  • Guest post from Cody about our new vermicomposter
  • A tour of the Victorian House B&B in St. Augustine

  5. Whoa, what contrasting pictures - both with its own beauty although I must admit - I do prefer the sunshine weather.

  6. I think I prefer the first image - it looks much warmer! Although, I have been wishing for snow so I can snap some images for Christmas cards. :)

  7. I too prefer the first photo but the second one is postcard perfect for those that like to look at snow.

  8. O, the second one is by far my favorite. That is so beautiful. But having a dry cough in that kind of weather is not a good thing, so I'm really glad that you saw your doc!
(I sent an old --really old-- postcard to you and wonder if it ever arrived?)

  17. You got snow down there already?

Actually, having hiked the Appalachian Trail through the mountains of North Carolina in April-going-into-May, I shouldn't be surprised....

Still, lovely winter photo...it's the one I'd rather look at, while I'd rather actually be in the first....

  26. that really is a contrast!

How timely, I am wondering if I can figure out some way to compost even in an apartment. btw: I'm reading "Green Goes With Everything" by Sloan Barnett - and am scouring the house for the remaining products that I never 'greened'. I am afraid to use conventional products after reading this .. good alternatives and recipes listed.

  30. Your shots are always lovely. Love the contrast.

  31. Both great photos. Yet no wonder you're sick, such extremes. You need a vacation from your vacation. Also, try liberally applying Vicks on the soles of your feet under socks at night to stop the cough.

    Feel better.
