Care to Share a Secret?

Polaroid Prologue to Ocracoke Island

At the very tip of Hatteras Island you have the opportunity to take a ferry ride
to the neighboring island. I've been on one before but this was my first time
driving a vehicle onto a ferry. It was an interesting experience.
The free ride took approximately 45 minutes.
Meanwhile, I walked around....



Once across, we made our way to the next camping destination.
This one was also oceanside and we chose a site with direct access this time.
After settling into our new campsite, we had to go explore.



Ocracoke NPS Campground was much more open than Frisco and because of
that it lacked the same privacy that we relished at our last overnight spot, but
being a stones throw from the beach just can't be beat, so I didn't complain!



It was so tranquil....waves crashing.....salty sea air....blowing breeze

Superb Summer Day

The left side of our driveway is blanketed with a generous amount of blackberry vines,
as well as, fragrant layers of white clematis.
This past weekend, we made a pseudo cobbler with the plump blackberries we picked.
I'm hoping that we can keep up with the rate that these fruits ripen.
I am most definitely going to make another 'cobbler', but what else?!
The receipe we used was from Pioneer Woman's Cook website. LINK
It was extremely easy to make, and didn't take a slew of time or ingredients.
However, I would like to try the more complicated version......maybe?!?
I guess I've been really getting into doing things easy, and cheap.
Not that I'm going to sacrifice quality, but you know, I like to save time AND money!

If you have any ideas on what I can do with all these blackberries I would love to hear them :)

See, I'm still on my haiku kick....
The weather was magnificent today.
It's a shame that I spent so little time outside.
You might recognize this lovely from recent post, link.

I'm glad that the votes are in and everyone is warming up to the idea of the new banner.
One comment in particular that I would like to highlight is from Kate @ art vein vessel:

"I'm assuming the old banner (which I also love) is of the Blue Ridge Mountains, where you live. So it's interesting that your new banner has a globe, which hints at a broader scope and perhaps represents the direction in which you want to wander."

Now that's an astute observation.....
I'd have to say that it was my subconscious adding it's two cents.
However unintentional it may or may not have been, it definitely holds truth.
I have gotten a lot more comfortable with the idea of going to the places I have always dreamed of seeing.
My list gets longer and longer....
For now we'll stick with road trips eh?

The lull came with the rain,
and has remained......
The delicate balance between my heart,
and mind discreetly cohere.....
As they wearily await.

On a lighter note:

I've had my eye on this Hydrangea bush downtown for about a week now.
Decompressing was vital when I got home from work,
I immediately said, "I want to go take photos of the Hy-dran-ge-a!"
I have this funny way of saying the word Hydrangea,
emphasizing the ge-a for some reason?!
Is it Friday yet?!
